Shana Habel, MA, is a K-12 Arts Specialist for the
Los Angeles Unified School District. She has taught dance at both the
elementary and secondary levels for many years and now works to support an army
of K-12 dance warriors in LAUSD. She is also a Lecturer in Dance at Loyola
Marymount University where she currently teaches a creative dance class for
elementary education majors. Shana is a past president of the California Dance
Education Association and served as a member of the National Coalition for Core
Arts Standards writing team in dance. She is active in arts and dance advocacy
efforts in California, striving to keep dance important. Shana received a BA in
Dance from BYU, an MA in Dance History from the University of Utah and is a
happy Master Practitioner in the Language of Dance®.
